Summary:
The Prefabrication Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company’s electrical prefabrication operations. This role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and safety by shifting field labor into controlled shop environments where assemblies can be built ahead of installation. The Supervisor oversees production planning, staffing, workflow, quality control, and coordination with project management, estimating, and field operations to ensure prefabricated materials are delivered accurately and on schedule.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the company’s prefabrication strategy to support operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to increase prefabrication across projects and divisions by coordinating with estimators, project managers, and field leaders.
  • Standardize prefabrication processes and develop best practices across the company.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the prefabrication shop, including scheduling, workflow, and labor allocation.
  • Manage shop layout, equipment, and processes to optimize production efficiency.
  • Work with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available for scheduled builds.
  • Ensure prefabricated assemblies meet project specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Track production schedules to ensure assemblies arrive on site when needed.
  • Establish performance metrics and continuously improve shop productivity and quality.
  • Monitor production costs, labor efficiency, and material usage.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Implement safety training and enforce proper procedures within the prefabrication facility.
  • Evaluate new technologies, automation, and fabrication methods to improve production capabilities.

  • Understanding of electrical design and assemblies, as well as principles of safety, job management, budgeting, and procurement for shop operations.
Education and Licenses:
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, with experience in prefabrication, manufacturing, or field operations.
  • 3–5+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience with prefabrication planning is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable electrical codes and regulations.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, and reach.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. occasionally, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to grasp, handle, and manipulate hand tools, power tools, and small components requiring fine motor skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders, steps, or onto vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, awkward positions, or at varying heights.
  • Ability to sit, drive, and operate company vehicles as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
  • Visual ability to inspect equipment, read gauges, labels, and digital displays (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Auditory ability to hear alarms, vehicle sounds, equipment operation, and verbal instructions (with or without hearing aids).
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to noise, vibration, dust, grease, fumes, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work long shifts, overtime, or irregular hours, including early mornings or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment or machinery safety as needed.
  • Ability to travel between job sites as needed.
  • Ability to differentiate colors for wiring, indicators, or safety markings.
